I use my creative practice as a way of noticing and thinking about the world and the things in it. I tend to work with immediate methods such as sketchbooks, photography or speed drawings with ink and charcoal, to create instinctive responses. I also experiment with printmaking, collage, digital and the written word.

The creative process is not settled thing, but something fluid and uncertain – so I often move between a few ideas that may be going on at once. I might take a subject and run with it for a while, approaching it in different ways and materials, so it becomes a vehicle for playing with process. I’m currently interested in our relationships with everyday objects, using a direct, unhindered, free, drawing process. There is an element of observation but that often disappears, becoming more about associations, meaning or feeling: of the medium, the object, or the moment.

I live and work in Norfolk.
